Design tips for this size
- Ask for the front and back as two separate images: front = name, title and logo; back = contact details or a bold brand pattern.
- Minimum readable type on a business card is about 7–8 pt — tell the AI “no tiny text.”
- Leave a little breathing room around the edges; cards are cut in stacks so anything touching the trim line can shift.
Tool settings
- ChatGPT / DALL·E: Paste the prompt as-is. Image output is limited to about 1024–1536 px, so pick the landscape option and then upscale (see step 3).
- Midjourney: Add
--ar 7:4to the end of the prompt and use--q 2. Upscale the result you like. - Canva (Magic Design / Magic Media): Create a custom-size design at 3.75″ × 2.25″, paste the prompt into Magic Media, then download as PDF Print with CMYK and crop marks & bleed checked.
- Adobe Firefly / Express: Choose the landscape aspect ratio closest to 7:4, generate, then open in Express at 3.75″ × 2.25″ @ 300 ppi and export as print PDF.
From AI image to print-ready file
- Generate 3–4 versions and pick the one with the cleanest text. AI still misspells words — read every line.
- Fix the text if needed by dropping the image into Canva or Photoshop and retyping headlines over it.
- Upscale to at least 1,125 × 675 px using Canva’s upscaler, Topaz Gigapixel, Upscayl (free) or Photoshop’s Super Resolution.
- Set the document to 3.75″ × 2.25″ at 300 DPI, convert to CMYK, and export a flattened PDF.
