24×36 Poster AI Prompt

Use the copy-and-paste prompt below to generate a 24×36 poster in ChatGPT, Midjourney, Canva or any AI image tool — sized correctly for print at 300 DPI, CMYK, with bleed. Fill in the [brackets], generate, and order it from FlyersATL for same-day or next-day pickup in Atlanta or Peachtree Corners.

Print specs

Final trim size 24″ × 36″
Bleed 0.25″ on every side → file size with bleed 24.5″ × 36.5″
Pixels at 300 DPI (with bleed) 7,350 × 10,950 px
Large-format note Anything over 24″ prints beautifully at 150 DPI (3,675 × 5,475 px). Aim for that as your minimum; 300 DPI is ideal but not required.
Safe zone Keep text & logos 0.5″ inside the trim edge
Aspect ratio 2:3
Color mode CMYK (convert before sending — RGB neon colors will print duller)
Accepted files PDF (preferred), PNG, JPG or TIFF — flattened, fonts outlined or embedded

Design tips for this size

  • Posters get viewed from 3–10 feet away, so keep the headline huge and the body copy short.
  • For event posters, put the who / what / when / where in a clean block near the bottom third.
  • Photo-style artwork is fine, but ask for “sharp, high-detail” so it holds up at full size.

Tool settings

  • ChatGPT / DALL·E: Paste the prompt as-is. Image output is limited to about 1024–1536 px, so pick the portrait option and then upscale (see step 3).
  • Midjourney: Add --ar 2:3 to the end of the prompt and use --q 2. Upscale the result you like.
  • Canva (Magic Design / Magic Media): Create a custom-size design at 24.5″ × 36.5″, paste the prompt into Magic Media, then download as PDF Print with CMYK and crop marks & bleed checked.
  • Adobe Firefly / Express: Choose the portrait aspect ratio closest to 2:3, generate, then open in Express at 24.5″ × 36.5″ @ 300 ppi and export as print PDF.

From AI image to print-ready file

  1. Generate 3–4 versions and pick the one with the cleanest text. AI still misspells words — read every line.
  2. Fix the text if needed by dropping the image into Canva or Photoshop and retyping headlines over it.
  3. Upscale to at least 7,350 × 10,950 px using Canva’s upscaler, Topaz Gigapixel, Upscayl (free) or Photoshop’s Super Resolution.
  4. Set the document to 24.5″ × 36.5″ at 300 DPI, convert to CMYK, and export a flattened PDF.
  5. Upload & order on the poster page, or send it for a quote. Not sure about your file? Send it anyway — we look at every file before it prints.
